The transition from software development to agriculture was sparked by observing the pride of Canadian farmers during their travels. In South Korea, farming often carries a stigma, but the couple saw an opportunity to revitalize a third-generation farm that had been in Lily’s family for 45 years. Upon returning in 2020, they began learning the trade under her father’s guidance.

Faced with high waste rates, they pivoted to value-added products, incorporating the mountain root vegetable into lattes, cookies, and scones. A 100 million won government grant provided the capital to renovate and rebrand. Today, their products appear in Hyundai Department Store pop-ups and local resorts. Despite the success, Kang warns that the reality of farming is grueling, advising aspiring farmers to test the lifestyle for three months before abandoning their corporate careers.
