JPMorgan Recruits Guggenheim Veteran David Blais for Healthcare Unit

Blais will report directly to healthcare investment banking co-heads Jerry Lee and Nick Richitt. His appointment signals a push to bolster the bank’s advisory capabilities in a highly competitive market for healthcare dealmaking. This transition serves as a homecoming for Blais, who previously held a position at JPMorgan between 2007 and 2010.

Prior to his long tenure at Guggenheim, which began in August 2014, Blais served as a director in the mergers and acquisitions department at Citigroup. His move follows years of focus on complex healthcare services transactions, a background JPMorgan intends to leverage as it navigates the current landscape of industry consolidation.
