The company intends to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol 'WELA'. While the firm has not yet disclosed the size of the offering, the move signals a broader trend of consumer-facing brands testing investor appetite in public markets. Wella currently maintains a footprint in over 100 countries, supported by a workforce of more than 6,000 employees and a research hub located in Darmstadt, Germany.
KKR initially acquired a 60% stake in the business from Coty in 2020, a transaction that valued the company at $4.3 billion including debt. To manage the transition to public ownership, Wella has tapped a syndicate of major financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, BofA Securities, J.P. Morgan, and KKR itself, to serve as underwriters for the offering.
