By acting quickly, Warsaw moved the national conversation from speculation to accountability, focusing on why the missile reached the ground before a firing decision was finalized.

The core challenge remains the window of engagement. An F-16 pilot was scrambled, but the missile, traveling at 800 km/hr, reached the impact zone before a positive identification could be made. While officials argued that the missile was tracked away from houses, the reality of the incident highlights that detection capabilities have vastly outpaced the speed of command-and-control procedures. A radar system can identify a target, but it cannot resolve the moral and strategic weight of an engagement order within seconds.
