Powered by the newly debuted GPT-5.6 model—which faced a brief delay last month due to U.S. national security concerns—the service allows users to generate documents, presentations, and websites without requiring technical programming expertise. OpenAI is positioning the tool as a cost-effective alternative to existing market options, emphasizing that its new model architecture offers high-level performance at a fraction of the price of competitor services.
Product manager Ty Geri stated that the model’s ability to apply coding logic is intended to scale across every industry. Analysts noted that the smaller versions of the 5.6 model match the capabilities of larger, more expensive variants while operating at one-fifth of the cost. The rollout begins immediately for Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users, with expansion to Plus and Business tiers scheduled for the coming days. Alongside the agent, OpenAI introduced a dedicated desktop application and a hosted website feature, streamlining the process for users to build and share projects directly within the ecosystem.
